Schmittenhöhe

Our main ski area is the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See. There you can also find our free-of-charge-ski bus, that runs many times daily to the Areitbahn. This 6 passenger gondola brings you in 3 sections up to the Schmittenhöhe summit. After the first section one can find the Glockner cable-car with a beginners slope.

The Schmittenhöhe summit is also reachable with a gondola from Zell am See. The Sonnenalm is a south-east facing area and is accessible with a cable-car over the Schmittenhöhe or from the valley with the Sonnenalm-lift. New in 2006: the 6-person chair lift on the Sonnenalm and the new artificial snow machine.

Snow quality is guaranteed with a nearly area-wide net of artificial snow machines.
The regional ski pass is valid for Schmittenhöhe, Maiskogel in Kaprun and for the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier.
